About Song Zoo

Hey! My name's Andy. I'm really into music and learning all sorts of things. This website consists mainly of stuff that I'm trying to learn. Some of it I'm reasonably good at. Some of it I'm pretty bad at. In some ways, I'm here as a teacher, but I'm also here as a fellow learner.

The goal is to put useful ideas and materials together while having a bit of fun in the process. This website is a hub for different blogs and Youtube channels that I've been working on. If anyone finds any inspiration here, that'll mean a lot to me.

Speaking of inspiration, writing songs is something I put quite a bit of time and energy into. It's a pretty magical experience to see ideas develop into little musical creatures with a life of their own. Some of these creatures will be making their way here onto Song Zoo. I have mixed feelings about this just like I have mixed feelings about zoos. The animals there are amazing, beautiful and inspiring; but it's always a bit disheartening to see them confined in an artificial habitat and turned into a sort of spectacle. So, yeah, I'm a morally torn zookeeper of sorts, but I figure, at very least, these songs deserve a bit of fresh air and enough freedom to be able to come to life and do their thing. 

I'm here for them, for my own learning and to help anyone who happens to wind up here.
