Dogs Like Me
I'm sure sma' pleasure it can gie,
Ev'n to a deil,
To skelp an' scaud poor dogs like me
An' hear us squeel.
-Robert Burns
Barking, howling, growling, crying, squealing on my own;
Sniffing around, wagging my tail, licking faces, chewing bones
That sort of stuff fills up my life, some of it turns into songs.
Have a listen if you like and feel free to squeal along.
cf Zen :Does a a dog have Buddha nature?
Zen: Dog when master's finger points towards the moon
Dog: literal vs. insult (as how I see myself, where I belong... cf are you like me? Is this your tribe?)
Dog= cynicism (doglike-ness)
You may not like me, but dogs do...and that's good enough for me (or at least a consolation)

Cynicism..... dog-like
Jordi (farmer) judging p's by their dogs and how dogs react to them
"For Diogenes, being truly human means living like a dog. Cynics were like dogs in another way too: they barked at people. That is, they said exactly what they thought, without fear or favour. Just as doctors prescribe nasty medicines, Antisthenes said, philosophers deliver unpleasant truths"
